Job Summary:
As an Engineering Technician for Silver Dollar City's Showboat on Table Rock Lake in Branson, MO, you will be assigned to safely perform a wide variety of custodial, mechanical maintenance, and repair tasks to vessel equipment in a cost-effective manner. We are looking for applicants that demonstrate attention to detail, multitasking skills, and problem-solving skills. Applicants should also demonstrate the ability to work well with others and the aptitude to learn.
This position starts now and ends 01/15/2027.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities- Punctuality and reliability are an absolute must;
Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals;
Safely completes tasks on time. - Comply with all appropriate regulations of the US Coast Guard, Army Corps of Engineers, Department of Natural Resources, Missouri Water Patrol, and all other Federal, State, and Local regulatory units under which the vessel operates.
- Daily use of computer-based maintenance management software to receive assignments and enter input upon completion.
- Proactively cooperates with Vessel Restaurant, Merchandise, and Entertainment departments to ensure a consistently safe and high-quality entertainment experience for all passengers.
- Trains and participates in handling lines, shore power, sewer, and water connections in a safe, legal manner.
- Train and participate in all assigned drills and remain proficient in rescue boat operation in a safe and consistent manner in case of emergencies and during assigned drills.
- Ensure safe and complete securing of vessel systems and mechanical equipment at the end of the voyage.

- Must be comfortable working on a moving vessel away from land.
- Must be able to communicate efficiently.
- Must have a thorough understanding of basic vessel construction, general mechanical operating principles of HVAC/refrigeration, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing and electrical generation, supply, and distribution is required as well as reading an electrical measuring device.
- Must have basic computer knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office software (Word and Outlook) and Internet applications.
- Must meet Basic Deckhand Personnel Qualification Standards (PQS) as detailed in USCG NVIC 1-91 as well as the Engineering Technician PQS (equivalent to Deckhands with Engineering Responsibilities defined in the NVIC).
- Must possess and maintain a current, valid Driver's License.
- Must be able to Obtain a Transportation workers identification Credential.
- One year mechanical or electrical experience preferred.
