This position will remain open for a minimum of seven (7) days. The College reserves the right to close the recruitment at any time after the minimum posting period once a sufficient applicant pool has been established. All classified positions will start their salary at Step
A.
- Direct custodial tasks, during assigned shifts to support efficient operations, safety compliance, and quality. Evaluates performance of the team.
- Assign work tasks to the custodians on shift and priorities based on operational needs.
- Identify and resolve any issues during the shift, escalating to Custodian 5 as needed.
- Inspects work of custodians on shift to ensure completion.
- Performs custodial tasks as needed to cover the campus workload.
- Drive light trucks, vans and other mobile equipment.
- Empties the trash and recycling dumpsters in appropriate collection points.
- Maintain the continuous availability of custodial supplies and operational equipment to support efficient custodial operations.
- Monitor supply inventory by conducting routine checks and notifying the custodian 5 when stock falls below established levels.
- Distribute custodial supplies throughout campus locations to ensure operational readiness.
- Monitor custodial equipment condition and notify the custodian 5 when equipment requires maintenance or repair.
- Prepare a variety of reports and analysis for Custodian 5 and Facilities leadership.
- Regularly analyze custodial workloads based on changing conditions (enrollment, use of space, renovations) and report out to custodian 5.
- Collaborate with Custodian 5 to determine staffing needs for buildings.
- Research emerging cleaning techniques and technologies and provide recommendations to Custodian 5 for potential implementation.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Driver’s license.

This is a full‑time classified position scheduled to work 40 hours a week, with a salary range of $41,724 - $55,584 annually. All classified positions will start their salary at Step
A. When you have completed six months of probation, you will receive a 5 percent pay increase. A collective bargaining agreement exists, and this position is covered by the Washington Public Employees Association (WPEA) Union.
