Job Summary

As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of our facilities. This includes performing routine cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces, as well as taking care of more extensive cleaning projects when needed. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong time management skills, and have a commitment to maintaining a safe and hygienic environment for all occupants.

Job Requirements Qualifications

Required

Education:

High school diploma or GED.

Preferred Experience:

Commercial or residential janitorial related duties.

Ability to pass State and/or Federal Background Checks as determined by position (prior to hire date).

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Proven demonstrated experience using different cleaning techniques and the appropriate use of cleaning materials, tools, and equipment.

Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices to ensure a safe working environment.

Familiarity with the safe handling, storage, and disposal of cleaning chemicals and solutions.

Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Demonstrated ability to operate a wide variety of handheld power and manual tools both indoors and outside.

Strong personal and task organization and time-management skills.

Has knowledge of and demonstrates proper ergonomic practices, personal protective and safety equipment.

Licenses & Certifications

Valid Washington State Driver’s License.

Ability to obtain proof of insurability for operating an automobile.

First Aid/CPR certification (within 30 days of employment).

Tuberculosis (TB) Testing (upon employment and before contact with children, testing done before hire will not be recognized).

Current Immunizations per Washington Administrative Code (can be obtained upon hire).
