Work Environment:
Works both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions; drives company vehicle to all KCR sites.
Job Summary As a Custodian, you will maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of our facilities, performing routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces, and handling more extensive cleaning projects as needed. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, possesses strong time‑management skills, and is committed to a safe and hygienic environment.
Qualifications
Required
Education:
High school diploma or GED.Preferred Experience:
Commercial or residential janitorial duties.Ability to pass state and/or federal background checks as determined by position (prior to hire date).Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proven experience using different cleaning techniques and appropriate cleaning materials, tools, and equipment.Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices to ensure a safe working environment.Familiarity with safe handling, storage, and disposal of cleaning chemicals and solutions.Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.Demonstrated ability to operate a wide variety of handheld power and manual tools both indoors and outside.Strong personal and task organization and time‑management skills.Knowledge of and demonstration of proper ergonomic practices, personal protective equipment, and safety equipment.License(s) and/or Certifications
Valid Washington State driver’s license.Proof of insurability for operating an automobile.First Aid/CPR certification (within 30 days of employment).Tuberculosis (TB) testing (upon employment and before contact with children).Current immunizations per Washington Administrative Code (can be obtained upon hire).Essential Physical and Mental Functions
Demonstrated cognitive ability to recognize appropriate equipment use as designed by manufacturers and instructed by supervisor.Ability to recognize and accept verbal and written work instructions.Walking, reaching/stretching, intermittent sitting, twisting, and bending.Effective communication both in writing and verbally.Judgment of cleanliness, task completion, and need for maintenance to keep sites functional.Ability to discern potential safety risks and take appropriate action.Physical and cognitive ability to operate a motor vehicle.Lift up to 50 pounds, including moving furniture and other objects behind and under.Simple grasping and hand manipulation; reach above and below shoulder level.Work outside in a variety of weather conditions.Basic Expectations
