Job Overview
HII’s Mission Technologies division is dedicated to delivering cutting‑edge solutions that advance national security and defense objectives. We are actively looking for a Facilities Operation Specialist. This position is part of our Cyber and Intelligence division, supporting Enterprise‑Level Security and Modernization efforts across IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, physical facilities, and personnel operations. An active TS/SCI security clearance is required.
Salary Ranges by Level- Facilities Coordinator 2: $55,000 – $70,000
- Facilities Coordinator 3: $60,500 – $80,000
- Facilities Coordinator 4: $75,200 – $105,000
Job Responsibilities
- Manage and operate facility security systems and processes for access control (ACS), intrusion detection (IDS) and electronic surveillance (ESS).
- Operate Avigilon ESS in support of facility operations and security‑manager directed investigations.
- Monitor, test and report status of security system to the Command Security Manager, including semi‑annual ICD‑705 tests.
- Respond, assess, troubleshoot, repair, and triage security system components as needed; report deficiencies and outages.
- Perform routine system maintenance, repair and modernization of system components to ensure uninterrupted 24/7 operation; replace faulty sensors and components; assess impact from emergencies and outages; recommend modernization opportunities for contracts.
- Coordinate with the Command Security Manager, Network Engineers, Information Security Manager and Security Specialist to manage security system networks and components.
- Coordinate maintenance and repair of physical security equipment such as boom gates and turnstiles, including limited‑scope assessments and repairs; maintain and operate facility access badge equipment; prepare purchase requests for replacements.
- Assist with the annual physical security inspection of facility compound and building perimeters; act on security‑manager directed requests associated with ESS and IDS systems.
- Support configuration management of facility data closet equipment, including patch panels and voice/data port connections; assign, move and change passwords and phone numbers as requested.
- Provide written reports as required; coordinate troubleshooting and repair with system administrators, network managers and engineers; administer and control the issue of unclassified voice handsets and perform minor system maintenance in coordination with the relevant staff.
- High‑school diploma or equivalent plus at least 2 years of additional education and/or related experience.
- Basic technical knowledge in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and construction principles; mechanical ability to perform routine maintenance and repair on mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Knowledge of OSHA, fire prevention, life and safety regulations.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and work independently.
- Level 2:
High‑school diploma or equivalent plus 2 years of additional education and/or related experience. - Level 3:
High‑school diploma or equivalent plus 4 years of additional education and/or related experience. - Level 4:
High‑school diploma or equivalent plus 6 years of additional education and/or related experience.
- Technical school education preferred.
- Two years of maintenance experience preferred.
May require working in an industrial or shipboard environment. Typically does not require lifting more than 40 pounds or operating above three feet. May encounter extremes of temperature, pollution, humidity, noise, and other environmental factors while collecting data and observing performance of task teams.
