Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and enthusiastic Day Porter/Custodian to perform general cleaning and floor care in an educational facility in the Brentwood area. This position plays an important role in providing a clean, safe, and healthy environment for students, faculty, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Clean classrooms, offices, restrooms, cafeterias, gyms, and common areas.
• Sweep, vacuum, dust, wet mop, and dry mop floors.
• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
• Clean windows, doors, and other interior surfaces.
• Remove debris from building entrances and surrounding grounds.
• Set up and break down tables, chairs, and furniture for school events.
• Perform periodic floor care and carpet maintenance during school breaks.
• Perform porter duties, including moving boxes, furniture, and supplies, and completing other assigned tasks as needed.
• Follow company safety procedures, cleaning standards, and quality expectations.

Work schedule:

• 40 hours per week.
• Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM–6:30 PM, including a 30-minute unpaid meal break.
• Occasional evening and weekend work required to support special events throughout the year.

Requirements

• Must successfully pass a fingerprint-based criminal background check required for school employment
• Ability to perform physical work, including walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, pushing, and pulling
• Reliable, dependable, and committed to excellent customer service
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic smartphone or computer skills to record work hours accurately
• Ability to work in a smoke-free, tobacco-free, and drug-free environment

Compensation:

• $18.00 per hour
