Porter - Part Time

Responsibilities

Are you someone who takes pride in creating clean, welcoming spaces for others? As a Porter, you’ll be essential to the daily upkeep and appearance of our communities. Under the direction of the Property Manager, you’ll ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of the building’s common areas, contributing to a safe, well-maintained, and inviting environment for all residents and visitors. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in the resident experience by maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across all shared spaces.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Complete requests in a timely manner and interact with residents to ensure their needs are met.
• Clean and maintain all common areas, including front lobby, hallways, restrooms, elevators, stairways, and parking areas.
• Maintain floors, vacuum carpets and rugs, wash and wax hard surfaces, and clean tile grout.
• Wash walls, doors, and windows in shared areas.
• Replace light bulbs in common area lighting fixtures as needed.
• Ensure all trash receptacles are emptied and waste is transported to the designated disposal area.
• Monitor and restock sanitary and cleaning supplies to maintain proper inventory levels.
• Assist with light maintenance duties such as replacing air filters, minor touch-ups, and basic repairs.
• Support seasonal upkeep tasks, including snow removal and grounds maintenance.
• Assist in inventory control of janitorial tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Maintain a professional appearance and represent the community with a positive and courteous attitude.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Anticipated salary range: $22.00 per hr

• This position is Non-Exempt, meaning eligible for overtime pay

This range is provided as a general guideline and reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary depending on a variety of factors, including the candidate’s qualifications, geographical location, and the specific responsibilities of the role. In addition to salary, this position may be eligible for performance bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.

Final compensation offers will be determined following a thorough assessment of the candidate’s background and the requirements of the position.

• 1–2 years of janitorial, cleaning, or porter experience in residential or commercial settings.
• Basic knowledge of light maintenance tasks is a plus.
• Snow removal and landscaping experience a plus.
• Comfortable working with and around cleaning agents and equipment.
• Ability to complete daily assignments with minimal supervision.
• Strong time management skills and attention to detail.
• Reliable transportation required.
