Facilities Maintenance Supervisor

The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor in Bridgeport, CT is accountable for overseeing maintenance and engineering support operations, as well as managing plant improvement projects in a safe and effective manner. This role involves coordinating planned overhaul projects, supervising vendors and contractors, and offering guidance on predictive and preventive maintenance techniques. Additionally, the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading the maintenance team, providing technical support for plant enhancements, and fulfilling other engineering responsibilities as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Execute and assess plant-specific tasks related to predictive and preventive maintenance, availability enhancements, and production costs:

A. Manage and carry out performance testing on plant systems and components, comparing data against set standards to determine repair or replacement needs and continuously improve equipment performance.

B. Utilize tools and analysis methods to identify potential equipment issues that could lead to future outages.

C. Aid in developing preventative maintenance plans and scheduled maintenance activities.

D. Assist in outage planning.

E. Evaluate equipment failures and contribute to Root Cause Analysis efforts for prevention.

F. Collaborate with the Operations Manager to monitor facility service hours, updates on Major Maintenance Inspection schedules, and maintenance expense projections.

2. Direct Maintenance Department staff to maintain plant efficiency, meet safety and environmental standards, and ensure completion of work orders utilizing the CMMS.

3. Support the General Manager in creating annual maintenance budgets.

4. Manage the CMMS program (Maximo) to schedule work, prioritize orders, manage inventory, and procure materials.

5. Provide training and development opportunities for the maintenance team to ensure proper skill sets and qualifications.

6. Assist in investigating plant issues, incidents, accidents, and develop follow-up plans.

7. Conduct inspections of plant equipment during outages.

8. Offer technical support for bid proposals, contractor work oversight, and ensure QA/QC procedures are followed.

9. Collaborate with various stakeholders internally and externally to address equipment modifications, resolve issues, and share information.

Additional Requirements:

• Experience with Maximo CMMS and proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel

• Occasional travel required

• Physically able to navigate plant facilities and stairways

Availability Expectations:

This role may require on-call availability for emergency situations and standby duty.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent, with a minimum of ten years of relevant power plant experience
