St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport has more than 3,200 associates. It includes a 473-bed community teaching hospital, a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and children. St. Vincent's is the first hospital in Fairfield County to be integrated into the Hartford Health Care network, and is the system's second-largest hospital.
Job SummaryUnder the supervision of the Manager Facilities, the Supervisor of Facilities ensures efficient daily operations of the maintenance department, hospital and ambulatory departments' compliance of regulatory standards and requirements which includes environment of care and life safety standards. Using exceptional organizational skills, proficient in current codes and regulations, keen knowledge of the hospital equipment and systems, the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written (email), able to multi-task many high priority tasks simultaneously, and competent to work independently.
- High School/vocational school or equivalent required.
- 8 years' experience in;
Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry, HVAC and/or Power Plant Operations (OE2) required. - Minimum of two years Supervisory experience and OSHA training required.
- Knowledge of Building Management Systems and Work Order databases required.
- P-1, E-6, D-1 or S-1 State of Connecticut license required.
- Proficiency in English required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook and other systems preferred.
- Project Management experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Understanding and knowledge of general maintenance, HVAC, Basic electrical, Landscaping, Plumbing, and general carpentry. Requires hands-on experience in one of the above-mentioned trades.
- Must have a general knowledge of the environment of care and life safety requirements for hospitals and behavioral health facilities.
- Must be able to work well with others, manage a medium sized crew, take direction and follow through on assigned tasks.
