Maintenance Specialist - Hiring Immediately - Bridgeview, IL
Compensation: Hourly pay rate $35.23 to $47.73 (Based on Experience) - paid weekly
Shift Available: Days (M-F 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
Essential Responsibilities- Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures, including lock‑out/tag‑out; maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Communicate problems encountered during the shift and report carry‑over items at the tier‑1 meeting.
- Dismantle machinery to gain access to and remove/repair defective parts.
- Follow OSHA and Novolex safety rules and requirements at all times with special attention to lock‑out/tag‑out procedure.
- Efficiently track daily work and time spent on each job, and summarize time at day’s end using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Work with Parts Inventory Clerk to initiate purchase orders for parts and equipment, and to replenish inventory when needed.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements in methods, procedures, and processes.
- Perform PMs as assigned.
- Operate any equipment needed to perform the job, including forklift, man‑lifts, and elevated work platforms.
- Perform other related duties to contribute to the operation’s success as assigned by the Shift Supervisor or Technical Engineering team.
- Have thorough knowledge of mechanical devices and apparatus with advanced skills in repairing mechanical equipment.
- Examine mechanical equipment to diagnose problems, disassemble and repair/replace machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, conveyors, pumps, belts, chains, etc.
- Read mechanical prints and technical data during the installation and repair of equipment; ability to interpret P& is a plus.
- Repair parts requiring minor machine work or welding when needed.
- Use precision measuring tools/devices, hand tools, and testing instruments.
- Inspect all completed work and notify personnel when the job is complete.
- Lead and oversee the implementation of the company’s preventative maintenance program, ensuring all equipment and systems are maintained on a regular schedule and documentation of repairs, parts replacements, and overall equipment performance.

Education / ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED required;
Associate’s Degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred. At least 5-10 years of hands‑on experience in industrial maintenance or a similar role, advanced knowledge in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing complex mechanical, electrical, and automated systems. Supervisory experience and proven ability to lead and mentor junior technicians highly preferred. Experience managing and implementing preventative maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and reduce downtime essential.
Relevant certifications such as Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) or Certified Maintenance Technician (CMRT) are a plus.
High degree of knowledge of equipment and aptitude for understanding mechanical systems through formal training and/or education. Ability to perform repairs, use and/or make special attachments when necessary, certify to operate forklift, trained in lock‑out/tag‑out procedures.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to make decisions based on established guidelines related to identifying and addressing defective work and operational issues. Plan repair procedures to ensure efficient job completion. Apply common sense to follow detailed and simple written or verbal instructions and handle problems in standardized situations. High level of creativity and resourcefulness in solving various maintenance challenges.
Physical Demands- 8‑hour shifts or a 12‑hour rotating shift schedule.
