AboutThe Role
We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Fleet Diesel Mechanic to help maintain and repair our fleet of trucks and trailers. This role is essential in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel mechanics and maintenance, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to work independently.
We are willing to provide training for the right candidate who is eager to learn, grow, and perform at a high level.
- Inspect and diagnose mechanical and electrical systems of vehicles.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance (RPM) on engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, brakes, cooling systems, exhaust systems, and electrical components.
- Repair or replace worn, damaged, or malfunctioning parts and systems.
- Conduct diagnostic tests and ensure the completeness of repairs.
- Maintain accurate inventory of spare parts and request supplies as needed.
- Operate power tools and perform physical tasks including lifting (50+ lbs), climbing ladders, bending, and heavy lifting activities as required.
- Safely drop and hook trailers and operate trucks within company property.
- Maintain a clean, organized shop environment and follow all safety protocols.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required).
- Class A CDL license preferred.
- Ability to drop and hook trailers and safely operate trucks on company property.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a mechanic (required).
- Diesel engine repair experience: 2 years (required).
- Mechanical knowledge: 3 years (required).
- Familiarity with Cummins and Detroit Motors (preferred).
- Mechanic certification or journeyman’s license (preferred but not required).
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
- Background check required prior to employment.
- Competitive Salary: $28–$38 per hour, based on experience.
