Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic
Position Summary
Responsible for performing preventative maintenance, special inspections, and general repairs on tractor and trailer units in accordance with DOT, federal and state regulations and company standards.
Duties and Responsibilities- The Diesel Truck Mechanic diagnoses and repairs tractors and trailers.
- Perform annual/systematic 90‑day inspections to ensure equipment meets federal FHWA standards.
- Perform HM inspections.
- Adhere to all established safety (OSHA) and environmental policies and standards, including procedures for handling or disposal of hazardous wastes.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Experience with the use of inspection and test equipment used for cargo tank inspections.
- Must have own tools.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
Use arms to reach and stretch; hands and fingers to grasp, move, or assemble objects of a variety of sizes, and to manipulate tools, devices, and controls. Use legs to stand for long periods, maneuver through a shop environment, and perform locomotive functions such as crawling, kneeling, crouching, sitting, and carrying or relocating objects weighing up to 75 lbs. Perform fine and broad motor motions, sustain postures, and adjust to accommodate rapid and gradual changes in the work environment.

This position works in confined spaces.

The salary range for this position is $25.27 to $37.98 per hour. The final offer will be determined by various factors, including experience, education, skills, qualifications, and geographic location.
