Position SummaryUnder direct supervision, Gas Operations Technical Specialist Trainee operates and maintains electronic equipment including RTUs, electronic controllers, pneumatic controls, compressor control panels. They’ll receive training from senior Gas Operations Technical Specialists to learn all aspects of the job performed by the GOTS. This position will provide a structured training path for the GOTS position.
Essential Responsibilities- Assists and supports GOTS to operate, maintain, install and calibrate electronic and pneumatic controls and measurement equipment. Supports GOTS to maintain SCADA system. In training to repair electronic and pneumatic compressor, plant controls and digital circuits.
- Assists and supports GOTS to install, program, repair RTUs and electronic measurement equipment.
- Assists and supports GOTS to conduct cathodic protection surveys, repair cathodic protection systems, and design and install new systems.
- Assists and supports GOTS to install new pipelines, works with contractors to ensure quality and timely work, and write and complete capital work orders. Will utilize Passport software.
- Assists and supports GOTS in achieving Business Unit goals related to the position. Handles ordering material to ensure compatibility with existing equipment and investigates costs before selecting equipment.
- Assists and supports GOTS by providing technical support and direction as needed to the team. Stays abreast of new technologies and current industry practices.
- Trainee ($34.50 – $48.23)
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two years of experience in gas delivery systems operations, specifically compressor control panels, automated control systems, AC, DC analog and digital control circuits, process control technology, DOT rules and regulations, or a related technical college degree.
- Specialist ($38.30 – $53.50)
- High school diploma or GED.
- Four or more years of experience in gas delivery systems operations, specifically compressor control panels, automated control systems, AC, DC analog and digital control circuits, process control technology, DOT rules and regulations.
- Experience in other areas of Natural Gas Transmission is valuable.
