1st Shift Direct Hire Maintenance Supervisor

Maintenance & Tooling Supervisor

Location:

Bristol, CT

Hours:

6am – 2pm M-F with overtime as needed Pay: $30-31 per hour based on experience FULL BENEFITS PACKAGE

The Maintenance & Tooling Supervisor is responsible for keeping production equipment, tooling, and facility systems running efficiently to minimize downtime and support manufacturing operations. This role oversees machine maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, tooling support, building maintenance, and safety compliance while supervising maintenance activities and supporting production teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and equipment overhauls on production machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control system issues.
  • Maintain maintenance records, equipment logs, and repair documentation.
  • Ensure all production, quality control, and support equipment remains operational.
  • Supervise facility maintenance, including building systems, grounds, and parking lot upkeep.
  • Train production employees on basic equipment maintenance and support procedures.
  • Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors as needed.
  • Work closely with tooling and production teams, including international counterparts.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining an effective maintenance shop.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, Workers' Compensation, Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, and other safety regulations.
  • Monitor and document environmental compliance activities.
  • Support production by filling in as a machine operator when necessary.
  • Help reduce equipment downtime and improve overall plant efficiency.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of manufacturing equipment maintenance experience.
  • 5+ years of building/facility maintenance experience.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and engineering drawings.
  • Experience using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and forklifts.
  • Basic computer skills, including business software applications.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working at heights and on a production floor.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Strong manual dexterity and ability to use a variety of tools and equipment.
