Position Summary
The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining production equipment, facility systems, and grounds to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient work environment. This position supports daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks and collaborates with the Facilities Manager to complete preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs across all departments.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Duties
- Check daily preventative maintenance (PM) logs in SMT and other departments.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization in all facility areas.
- Assist in addressing equipment issues as they arise.
- Support production operations to ensure minimal equipment downtime.
- Inspect Branson/Baronette cleaning equipment for Ensolve fluid quality.
- Check and verify weekly PM logs in SMT and Molding areas.
- Perform preventative maintenance as scheduled by the Facilities Manager.
- Assist with scheduled equipment cleaning, lubrication, and safety checks.
- Support ongoing 5S and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
- Change Ensolve in Branson/Baronette units as needed.
- Replace production Branson/Baronette fluid filters and air filters in Molding Bransons/Baronette.
- Conduct facility-wide inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems.
- Record maintenance actions and findings in CMMS (Fiix).
- Assist with larger maintenance projects, floor reorganizations, and new equipment installations.
- Maintain facility maintenance items to support a safe, efficient workplace.
- Assist with construction, equipment setup, and training on new machinery.
- Diagnose and help repair basic electrical and mechanical issues.
- Follow all safety protocols including lockout/tagout procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects and training to expand technical skills.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager.
- Basic understanding of industrial electricity (3-phase power, wiring, fuses, relays).
- Hands-on experience using tools such as multimeters and general hand tools.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
- Willingness to learn PLCs, drives, sensors, and automation systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Comfortable reading manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.
