Position Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor provides day-to-day leadership and direction to maintenance technicians and coordinates maintenance activities to support safe, reliable,
and efficient plant operations. The position is responsible for executing preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities; improving equipment
reliability and uptime; developing maintenance team members; and ensuring maintenance work is completed safely, effectively, and in accordance with food safety and regulatory requirements.
The Maintenance Supervisor works closely with Operations and other departments to prioritize maintenance activities, respond to equipment issues, identify recurring failures, and support the transition from reactive maintenance toward a planned, preventive, predictive, and asset-focused maintenance culture.

Leadership & Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Provide visible, hands-on leadership and daily direction to maintenance technicians
  • Coordinate maintenance expectations and priorities across all three shifts through the Maintenance Shift Leads, ensuring consistent execution, accountability, and communication throughout the department.
  • Set clear work priorities, assign resources, and ensure maintenance activities are understood, documented, and completed effectively.
  • Hold team members accountable for safety, work quality, productivity, documentation,attendance, and company expectations.
  • Coach team members and provide timely, constructive performance feedback; address performance or conduct concerns in partnership with the Maintenance Manager and Human Resources.
  • Develop maintenance technicians through training, cross-training, mentoring, and increasingly challenging assignments.
  • Identify technical skill gaps and recommend development opportunities that strengthen department capability and succession readiness.
  • Ensure effective shift-to-shift communication, including unresolved work, equipment concerns, priorities, and follow-up responsibilities.
  • Build and maintain a positive team environment that promotes accountability, ownership, cooperation, and continuous improvement.
  • Support the Maintenance Manager in implementing department standards, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintenance & Reliability Responsibilities
  • Execute preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities in support of established department performance targets.
  • Support preventive maintenance compliance and effectiveness by ensuring scheduled work is completed thoroughly, on time, and with accurate documentation.
  • Monitor equipment performance and unplanned downtime; coordinate timely response to breakdowns while balancing immediate production needs with long-term equipment reliability.
  • Lead or participate in root cause analysis for recurring and significant equipment failures and ensure corrective actions are implemented and followed through.
  • Use the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to manage work orders, labor, parts usage, equipment history, preventive maintenance activity, and maintenance backlog.
  • Prioritize daily and weekly maintenance requirements and coordinate labor, materials, parts, contractors, and planned downtime as needed.
  • Support reliable operation of plant utilities, including water, steam, compressed air, and electrical systems, within the scope of assigned responsibilities.
  • Support maintenance of buildings, grounds, structures, and related facility systems as assigned.
  • Provide maintenance support to Agriculture, Transportation, and other departments as operational needs require.
  • Support machine shop activities and related maintenance work within the assigned area of responsibility.
Safety, Food Safety & Regulatory Responsibilities
  • Ensure maintenance work is performed in a manner that protects team member safety, food safety, product quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Follow and enforce applicable safety requirements, including lockout/tagout, confined space, hot work, personal protective equipment, and other maintenance safety procedures.
