Title: DIRECTOR OF INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY

PRIMARY FUNCTION
  • The Director of Innovation and Technology will provide visionary leadership and administration in instructional technologies to ensure that students achieve in math and reading.
  • The Director of Innovation and Technology will administer the schools technology inventory, usage, and data related to such to create opportunities for student growth and development, both academically and personally.
  • Reports directly to the Superintendent of Schools.
SUPERVISION OF OTHERS
Direct supervision over:
1. Technology Coordinator Staff

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
In addition to the primary function, the Director of Innovation and Technology shall be responsible for:
1. Provides leadership in the implementation of current research-based instructional technology practices.
2. Responsible for implementation of all software, hardware, equipment and devices used within the District, including the network, phone lines, and security systems.
3. Trains staff in educational technology integration for the purpose of infusing technology into the curriculum as a tool to teach and demonstrate learning.
4. Maintains an organized system of inventory.
5. Develops an annual budget in collaboration with the CSBO.
6. Analyzes new programs that fit the needs of the school and collaborates with the Principal to pilot them in a systematic manner to evaluate their effect on teaching and learning.
7. Maintains an ethical approach to technology while supporting teachers in implementing new technology for the benefit of student achievement.
8. Leads the District in the development and implementation of an Artificial Intelligence plan that supports teaching and learning outcomes.
9. Encourages and initiates continued improvement in instructional technology in cooperation with District Administration, and the principal.
10. Keeps the District ahead of the technology curve by ensuring equity of access to all students on campus and at home, and supporting the development of courses that teach children how to approach and use technology.
11. Complies with SOPPA and all other technology-related laws.
17. Makes recommendations to District Administration on any matter which will improve the excellence of the District.
18. Attends professional conferences, seminars, and workshops in education and/or educational administration.
19. Knows and adheres to all policies and administrative procedures adopted by the Board of Education.
20. Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

REQUIREMENTS
1. Master's Degree in Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, or Educational Technology
2. Illinois Professional Educator License or ability to obtain Illinois licensure with General Administration or Principal endorsement
3. At least 6 years of successful teaching experience.

SALARY RANGE
$75,000-$85,000
