This is a hands‑on manufacturing engineering role focused on CNC programming and process development, with approximately 70% of the position dedicated to programming. The engineer will own the process from initial programming through machine prove‑out and production release, ensuring programs, tooling, setup instructions, and documentation are accurate before reaching the shop floor. This is not a desk‑only position; the individual must be comfortable test‑running parts, validating processes, and resolving issues before production begins.
Responsibilities- Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs using CAM software.
- Program CNC mills, lathes, mill‑turn, Swiss, and multi‑axis equipment.
- Perform machine setups, program prove‑outs, and part test runs.
- Translate blueprints, 3D models, and GD&T into machining programs.
- Select tooling, fixtures, speeds, feeds, and cutting strategies.
- Develop processes from engineering drawings through production release.
- Create setup sheets, work instructions, tooling lists, operation sequences, and inspection criteria.
- Troubleshoot programming, tooling, fixturing, and production issues.
