Maintenance Lead

Maintenance Lead – Brockton, MA

Schedule:

Monday – Friday | 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM Pay: $34.00–$37.00/hr + $1/hr shift differential

Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Lead to join our team on 2nd shift. In this leadership role, you will assist the Maintenance Manager and coordinate maintenance activities during the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable operation of production equipment and facility systems within a USDA-regulated food manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, experience in food manufacturing, and the ability to lead, train, and support maintenance personnel while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the maintenance team during 2nd shift operations.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
  • Respond quickly to equipment issues to keep production running efficiently.
  • Maintain electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Repair and maintain building systems including lighting, plumbing, and general facility needs.
  • Read electrical schematics and perform basic PLC troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate maintenance projects and oversee outside contractors when needed.
  • Train and mentor maintenance staff on equipment operation and workplace safety.
  • Promote a safe work environment by following and enforcing safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout.
  • Work closely with Production, Sanitation, and Operations teams to support daily manufacturing goals.
  • Ensure equipment and facilities meet USDA, OSHA, and company safety standards.
  • Assist with wastewater operations as needed.
  • Complete additional maintenance and facility projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 5 years of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance experience in a USDA or FDA food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and repair skills for industrial processing and packaging equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical control schematics.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs.
  • Basic PLC troubleshooting and programming experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Dependable, safety-focused, and quality-driven.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred but not required.
