Position Summary: The position is responsible for maintaining a clean and healthy environment for clients and by performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks.
SHIFTS:
8am-4pm, 4pm-12am, 12am-8am
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the general supervision of the Facility Director, Maintenance workers are expected to perform the following principal duties and responsibilities.
- Repair and maintain physical plant and equipment, including minor repairs inside the building, resupplying lavatories and routine maintenance of cleaning equipment.
- Sweep and clean public and office areas.
- Assists in the unloading and storage of deliveries.
- Remove garbage from canisters on each floor
- Clean and wax floors.
- Observe residential areas and report to supervisory staff any maintenance issues which may affect the safety and security of clients or staff, or the orderly operation of the facility.
- Communicate effectively with the other staff within an interdisciplinary context to contribute to the achievement of facility goals and objectives
- Communicate with facility manager any emergency issues which may arise.
- Participate in training and staff development activities to acquire and maintain both interpersonal and operational skills necessary for successful job performance.
- Any other job-related duties.
Degree Requirement: High school diploma or equivalency with at least three (3) years working experience in maintenance and custodial duties, including cleaning, buffing, waxing, light plumbing, carpentry and electrical skills.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate ability to interact effectively and collaboratively with a diverse community of residents, program staff and external vendors.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and apply problem solving skills.
- Experience working collaboratively in a team oriented and outcomes focused environment.
Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of New York State and City pay transparency laws. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individuals' competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience and performance in the role.
Compensation
The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $44,298.
