Job Overview
Perform housekeeping and janitorial duties in all areas of the distribution center. Communicate all custodial or housekeeping issues to the maintenance supervisor, assistant maintenance supervisor, or DC management team. Perform maintenance duties for the outside grounds of distribution center buildings.
Essential Job Functions- Empty trash containers and cardboard containers, sweep all floor areas of the distribution center.
- Operate floor scrubbing equipment and cardboard baler.
- Maintain stations containing janitorial equipment such as brooms, dust mops, wet mops, mop buckets, etc.
- Assist maintenance team in maintaining and organizing the tote repair area.
- Maintain supplies of paper products and hand cleaner in all restrooms and break room areas.
- Assist the maintenance department in maintaining building grounds such as snow removal, lawn mowing, trash collection, etc.
- Assist the maintenance team with general maintenance duties, as required.
- Maintain safety standards while operating and identify unsafe practices and situations.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Required: 1+ years’ experience in custodial duties in a building, hotel, or distribution center; ability to multitask and work well in a team environment.
Desired: High school diploma or equivalent (GED); basic knowledge of grounds keeping (i.e., lawn mowing, weeding, trimming, etc.) and facility maintenance and equipment; basic experience in operating lawn mowers, weed trimmers, etc.; fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
