Job Description

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED in English.
  • Three (3) years of prior experience in a related field.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
  • Forklift certification required; may be obtained on the job.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse receiving area.
  • Maintain warehouse receiving system software.
  • Verify accuracy of shipments by counting, weighing, describing, or identifying code numbers with invoice or packing slip and purchase orders; record any discrepancies or damage.
  • Open crates and other containers using hand tools to unpack items and inspect for damage and defects.
  • Sort and store items according to established procedures (e.g., fixed assets, textbooks, etc.).
  • Read and fill requisitions for book items; verify accuracy of orders pulled.
  • Move merchandise to various locations manually or by operating mechanical equipment such as a forklift, pallet jack, or handcart.
  • Load and unload delivery truck by hand or using a hand truck as needed.
  • Drive truck to schools/departments to deliver materials and/or books; obtain authorized signature for supplies delivered.
  • Requisition additional supplies as needed to ensure all items are available.
  • Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to production workers.
  • Assist in the installation and setup of new campuses and classroom additions.
  • Maintain forklift certification.
  • Drive District vehicle to and from work site; obey all traffic laws.
  • Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Maintain a high level of ethical behavior as expected of all District employees.
  • Maintain professional growth by attending in-service meetings as requested/required.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Director.
