Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Boiler Mechanical Planner to join our Maintenance & Reliability team at our Brunswick Cellulose facility in Brunswick, Georgia. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and coordinating maintenance plans for boiler systems and related utility equipment to support safe, reliable and efficient operations.

Our Team

Georgia-Pacific's Brunswick Cellulose mill operates an integrated pulp, paper, and utilities operation that relies on large industrial boilers and high-pressure steam systems to support safe and reliable manufacturing. We are seeking a Boiler Mechanical Planner to join our Maintenance & Reliability team. In this role, you will serve as the planning subject matter expert for boiler-related mechanical maintenance activities, helping improve work execution, outage preparedness, and equipment reliability while supporting our commitment to safety and operational excellence.

What

You Will Do
  • Develop, review, and maintain detailed job plans and Standard Maintenance Procedures (SMPs) for preventive, predictive, corrective, and turnaround maintenance activities.
  • Create and validate Bills of Material (BOMs), parts lists, labor estimates, and special tooling requirements.
  • Build and maintain model work orders and task lists within the CMMS for recurring boiler maintenance activities.
  • Partner with maintenance supervisors, reliability personnel, and operations to develop weekly schedules and priorities.
  • Support work management processes that improve planning effectiveness, craft productivity, and schedule compliance.
  • Lead or support planning activities for boiler outages and shutdowns, including scope development, material staging, contractor coordination, and job package preparation.
  • Coordinate specialty contractors, including welders, refractory contractors, NDE technicians, insulation contractors, and pressure vessel service providers.
  • Support Major Expense Project (MEP) planning and execution activities related to boiler systems.
  • Develop safe and effective work packages for unplanned equipment failures and emergency repairs.
  • Coordinate rapid procurement of materials and resources needed to execute priority work.
  • Support troubleshooting efforts and root cause analysis activities related to boiler equipment failures, pressure part issues, leaks, and reliability events.
  • Maintain equipment records, inspection histories, drawings, and applicable maintenance documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reliability, planning quality, and work execution.
  • Incorporate lessons learned into job plans, BOMs, and maintenance procedures to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure planned work complies with all applicable safety requirements, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, hot work, and other site-specific procedures.
  • Support compliance with applicable regulatory and industry standards, including ASME and boiler-related codes.
  • Participate in incident investigations and corrective action development as needed.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Five (5) or more years of maintenance planning experience supporting industrial boiler systems, steam generation systems, or similar utility equipment.
  • Experience developing job plans, work packages, and maintenance schedules in a CMMS environment.
  • Working knowledge of boiler pressure parts, piping systems, fans, burners, economizers, sootblowers, and refractory systems.
  • Experience coordinating maintenance activities involving contractors and internal craft resources.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to support outage planning and execution activities in an industrial manufacturing environment.
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Technical degree or certification in Mechanical Technology, Industrial Technology, Reliability, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting recovery boilers within the pulp and paper industry.
  • Experience using Passport Asset Suite, Asset Suite, PTM, or similar CMMS platforms.
  • Experience planning and coordinating major outages, shutdowns, or turnaround events.
