Position Title: Custodian

Position Classification: Classified

Position Type: Full‑time

Salary: $16.93 to $18.18 per hour

Hours: 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, 40 hours per week

Employment Length: 12 months with benefits

Location: Buckeye Union High School, Buckeye, Arizona

Start Date: Immediately

Classified position reporting directly to the BUHS plant foreman.

Full‑time positions (30+ hours per week) are eligible for benefits on the first of the month following the 60th day of employment. Benefits include health, dental, vision, life insurance and optional supplemental policies through Aflac and Legal Shield at an additional cost.

• May be required to alter working hours to perform regular assigned duties.
• Deliver equipment and supplies.
• Clean restrooms as needed.
• Set up and take down all school‑related activities and events.
• Move furniture and equipment as needed.
• Raise and retire the United States flag before and after school hours.
• Report safety hazards and the need for major and minor repairs.
• Keep grounds free of rubbish.
• Sweep, vacuum, dust, and empty trash as needed.
• Clean corridors during the day when warranted.
• Assist the maintenance technician.
• Assist with securing the buildings.
• Communicate with supervisor when problems occur.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Less than a high school diploma.
• MSDS and blood‑borne pathogens training.
• Less than one year of custodial experience (preferred).
• Ability to communicate and work well with staff, parents, and students.
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.

• Sit approximately 0% of the time.
• Walk approximately 90% of the time.
• Stand approximately 5% of the time.
• Kneel or stoop approximately 5% of the time.
• Lift regularly 30 to 40 lbs.
• Reach with hands and arms regularly.
• Wearing respirator and gloves as needed.
