General Statement of Position’s

Purpose:

To play an integral part in ensuring a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean and efficient environment for students to learn and develop.

• Part-Time Custodian at Youngker High School
• Up to 20 hours a week, 6:00 am to 4:30 pm Saturday – Sunday. No benefits.
• Must be comfortable and able to work alone.
• Wage per the Classified Salary Schedule/ Experience will be considered.
• Less than a high school diploma
• MSDS and blood-borne pathogens training
• Less than one year experience in custodial work is preferred
• Ability to communicate and work well with staff, parents and children
• Vacuum
• Cleaning chemicals
• General hand tools
• May be required to alter working hours to perform regular assigned duties
• Deliver equipment and supplies
• Cleans restrooms as needed
• Setting‑up and taking‑down of all school-related activities and events
• Moves furniture and equipment as needed
• Raises the United States Flag before school and retires the flag after school hours
• Reports safety hazards and the need for major and minor repairs
• Keeps grounds free of rubbish
• Sweeps, vacuums, dusts, and empties trash as needed
• Cleans corridors, when warranted, during the day
• Assists the maintenance technician
• Assists with securing the buildings
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Communicates with supervisor when problems occur
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Must use own initiative and judgment in performing job
• Performs as directed; responsible for own job under direct supervision
• Completes work with minimum contact with others
• Routine work with little planning needed
• Periodic exposure to hazardous materials such as blood-borne pathogens, high voltage, gas and heights
• Sit 0% of the time; walk 90% of the time; stand 5% of the time; kneel / stoop 5% of the time; lift 30–40 lbs regularly; reach with hands and arms regularly; ability to wear respirator and gloves as needed
• Work environment is normal for any classroom area with noise levels that vary from low to mid depending on tools or equipment used
• Willingness to be an integral member of a successful team; dedication to provide the highest level of service; desire to be at work and on time daily; adherence to policies and procedures

Salary: $16.93 to $18.18 per hour
