Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Maintenance Manager
Weyerhaeuser Company is searching for a Maintenance Supervisor for the Engineered Wood facility located in Buckhannon WV. This position is part of the Weyerhaeuser Engineered Wood Products Business and reports to the Maintenance Manager. It is a full‑time, exempt role that leads and directs the daily activities and some planning for a team of Millwrights, Electricians, and Multi‑craft Technicians in the areas of Safety, Quality and Maintenance for all equipment, buildings, and rolling stock.

They are a team builder who leads by example and ensure compliance with all applicable Weyerhaeuser, federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
The Maintenance Supervisor Is Responsible For- Executing maintenance activities in assigned areas, prioritizing the safety of associates and contractors.
- Leading preventive and predictive maintenance/process reliability in the assigned shift and area.
- Analyzing data to ensure downtime tasks are executed effectively.
- Administrative and reporting activities.
- Supporting improvement of key performance indicators, continuous improvement of maintenance functions, and department budget cost effectiveness.
- Developing and training associates, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
- Participating in or leading capital projects and problem‑solving initiatives as assigned.
- Ensuring purchasing functions follow established policies and procedures.
- Maintaining and improving processes associated with the computerized maintenance management system (SAP).
- Facilitating team meetings and trainings.
- Identifying and contributing to solving safety, environmental, quality, and production issues.
- Providing leadership for the ongoing development of the Maintenance Team.
- Supporting training and development plans to improve skills, knowledge, and team performance.
- Leading the team by proactively resolving employee issues, building teamwork, and ensuring adherence to all applicable site policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner.
- Staffing, recruiting, retaining, and developing talent.
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of three (3) years of maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong business leadership skills with the ability to understand and support the site's vision, strategy, goals, and targets.
- Experience with Precision Maintenance Practices (alignment, balance, bolting, fastening, etc.) as well as preventive and predictive maintenance methods and technologies.
- Proven skills in cutting/welding, hydraulics, and pneumatics troubleshooting.
- Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Ability to identify root cause of problems and initiate corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Excellent team‑building, problem‑solving, written and verbal communication skills.
- Track record of demonstrating collaborative and inclusive leadership and positively influencing safety, quality, productivity, and people development.
- Ability to provide innovative solutions that continuously improve maintenance processes and eliminate unscheduled downtime.
- Ability to plan, lead, and execute day‑to‑day maintenance activities.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as conditions require.
- Computer literacy with experience in Microsoft programs.
- Ability to learn and use software associated with maintenance tracking systems.
- Capability to work in extreme temperatures and at heights when conditions warrant.
- Experience with reliability technologies and/or mechanical formalized training.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering or vocational technical training certificate.
- Leadership or military‑related training/experience.
- Experience in wood manufacturing process.
- Experience with LEAN processes.
