The Dryer Technician's general function will be to perform moderately complex work related to the operation and maintenance of a sludge dryer system. This position is under general supervision. This position works Monday through Thursday for 10 hours per day. Must be available for some weekends and emergency callouts.

• Operate dryer equipment and delivery systems.
• Monitors and manipulates process variables.
• Complete chronological log and process worksheets.
• Compiles and enters process data and generates SCADA process reports.
• Collects process control and regulatory compliance samples.
• Monitors biosolids storage distribution.
• Assist with deliveries and maintain equipment and spare parts inventory.
• Maintains and cleans solids drying facilities and equipment.
• Ability to perform lab bench testing and perform preventative maintenance tasks and maintain equipment.

• A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent vocational school education required;
• Two (2) years of related experience in mechanical or electrical repairs required;
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, charts and technical repair manuals, work from sketches, building plans, and follow oral and written instructions;
• Valid Class D driver's license with a satisfactory driving record required;
• Or any combination of education and experience that provides the candidates possesses the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties prescribed to the position (above).

• Performs medium to heavy work that involves walking, standing, stooping, lifting, and digging
• Pushing and raising objects and also involves exerting between 20 to 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis and 50 to 100 pounds of force on an occasional basis.
