Custodian 2nd Shift

Job Summary

Provide custodial support for the District to maintain a clean, safe, and healthy learning environment for students and staff.

• 80% Cleaning & Upkeep:
  Clean, scrub, mop, dust, vacuum or sweep floors, stairs, classrooms, kitchens, gyms, locker rooms, libraries, offices, commons, hallways, restrooms, and other designated areas.
• Respond to emergency cleanup situations.
• Keep custodial/maintenance rooms clean and well maintained; restock cleaning supplies.
• Maintain building security: secure building, lock and unlock doors as necessary, and perform other security tasks.
• Perform detailed cleaning of all building areas during summer months as directed.
• 10% Set-up / Take-down:
  Set up, take down, and clean up for events and other activities; perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment; perform minor repairs; assist with major repairs; monitor boiler operation and report concerns.
• 4% Grounds:
  Perform basic grounds upkeep including shoveling snow, picking up garbage, and keeping entrances clean and free of obstructions as needed.
• 1% Meetings / Trainings:
  Attend meetings and trainings as assigned; perform other duties as assigned or requested.

5 days/week (Mon-Fri), 8 hours/day, 12 months/year.

Hours:

3:30 pm–12:00 am or as assigned. Benefits:
According to Master Agreement.

• Education:
  
  High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience:
  
  No previous custodial or other related experience required.
• Essential

  Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques; ability to follow written and verbal instruction; lift safely; basic computer skills; basic communication skills; teamwork; meet deadlines; organizational and time‑management skills; maintain confidentiality; safely work with cleaning products; follow established routines.
• Machines, Tools, Equipment:
  Operates hand tools, pallet jack, desk/table movers, ladders, carpet cleaners, floor machines, computer, hand‑held radio, and district phone system.

• Lifting, walking, pulling, stooping, climbing, crawling, and kneeling.
• Extended periods on feet.
• Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds; occasional lifts of 75–100 pounds.
• Occasional ladder climbing.
• Repetitive motion and hand dexterity tasks.
• Listening, speaking clearly, visual acuity.

• Organize and prioritize tasks to meet strict deadlines.
• Attention to detail; handle multiple tasks with constant interruptions.
• Concentration when operating equipment.
• Willingness to undertake a variety of tasks from multiple people.
