Responsible for all interior painting at Community Services residential, rental, and office properties. Assesses needs of properties for repainting annually. Helps train and lead Maintenance Technicians in proper painting preparation and painting techniques.
Responsibilities- Oversight of all painting requests at every Agency facility including residential IRAs, apartments, day program locations and office buildings.
- Manages the entire painting process from the time the request is entered by an Agency employee until the work order is closed by the Maintenance Manager.
- Assists employees and people supported in color selection for residential IRAs; ensures non-IRA painting is completed according to the approved Agency paint chart.
- Manages the approved Agency paint chart, adding and removing colors as needed.
- Responsible for completing all painting preparation work including small drywall patches and other minor wall repairs.
- Ensures that Agency properties and houses meet established health and safety requirements by at the direction of the Maintenance Manager.
- Communicates deficits and plans for correction to the Maintenance Manager.
- Performs minor and routine maintenance, repairs and janitorial duties as required during the course of an assigned painting job.
- Assists outside contractors with completing repairs/bids for larger interior or exterior painting jobs.
- Provides guidance and training to maintenance staff including support and training in the field.
- Repairs regular and routine electrical issues including replacing fixtures, light bulbs, outlets and switches.
- Organizes assigned work orders in conjunction with the Maintenance Manager and Coordinator of Building and Property to ensure an appropriate rotation of priority with regard to painting jobs.
- High School diploma/GED or must pass pre-employment skills test.
- Must have at least 5 years of work experience as a professional painter.
- Knowledge basic painting best practices including dry wall repair, wall prep, and proper painting techniques.
- Ability to read, understand, organize and schedule painting job work orders.
- Ability to work with and operate manual and power tools which may be required in a limited capacity.
- Physical requirements include walking, sitting, standing, bending, driving, ability to climb stairs, carrying, stooping, and lifting up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Mental requirements include ability to exercise independent judgment and manage multiple tasks.
- Staying awake and alert while on duty.
