• Maintained a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for students, staff, and visitors throughout the school building.
• Cleaned classrooms, hallways, offices, restrooms, cafeterias, and common areas by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces.
• Emptied trash and recycling bins, and ensured proper waste disposal.
• Restocked restroom and classroom supplies, including soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
• Performed routine maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, changing air filters, and reporting repair needs to maintenance staff.
• Set up and broke down tables, chairs, and equipment for school events, meetings, and assemblies.
• Operated and maintained cleaning equipment, including floor scrubbers, buffers, and vacuums.
• Followed safety procedures and proper handling of cleaning chemicals in accordance with school and OSHA guidelines.
• Assisted with snow removal and salting of walkways during winter months to maintain safe access to the building.
• Responded promptly to spills, emergencies, and maintenance requests to ensure a safe learning environment.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous custodial, janitorial, or facility maintenance experience preferred.
• Knowledge of proper cleaning methods, sanitation procedures, and safe use of cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to operate custodial equipment, including vacuums, floor scrubbers, buffers, and carpet cleaners.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Basic knowledge of building maintenance and minor repairs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with students, staff, and visitors.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends when needed for special events or emergencies.
• Ability to pass required background checks in accordance with school district and state requirements.
