Base Pay: $20.56 per hour (Union Employees see Appendix “A” of the Union contract). Full‑time, non‑exempt, hourly.
Present Schedule – Saturdays and Monday through Wednesday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Hours may vary; mandatory overtime is possible under the Union Contract.
Position SummaryPerform routine manual tasks related to ensuring all deliveries are made on time. Primary responsibility is to load and unload trucks and safely deliver products to the proper locations on campus. The position also includes emptying composting and trash compactor machines following established procedures.
Job Assignments- Prepare, load, and unload CDS trucks.
- Drive to and from assignments transporting product, supplies, employees, linens, and equipment.
- Operate CDS vehicles safely, keeping cab and cargo areas neat and clean.
- Maintain clean and organized dock and receiving areas.
- Store vehicles and keys in their assigned locations.
- Maintain high sanitary, hygienic, and safety standards.
- Work consistently and productively throughout the entire shift.
- Perform general cleaning, other food‑service duties, and projects as requested by management.
- Valid NYS driver’s license with a clean, safe driving record and experience with a single‑axle, 18,000‑pound truck.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing 50 lbs. or more without assistance; good physical condition to walk, stand, bend, and reach throughout the workday.
- Minimum one year of customer‑service experience; excellent customer‑service skills.
- Experience in safe food handling, preventing food‑borne illness, and sanitation techniques preferred.
- Strong communication skills with customers and management.
- Ability to prioritize work and execute tasks with speed, efficiency, and accuracy in a high‑volume environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to fulfill customer orders.
- Proficient in reading, writing English, and accurate math skills.
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
- Professional appearance, demeanor, and hygiene.
- Readiness to work in a loud and busy kitchen environment with exposure to heat, steam, fire, noise, sharp knives, and slippery surfaces.
- Stand, walk, and be active for a minimum of 8 hours per shift.
- Occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, stretch, twist or reach out.
- Regularly talk and listen.
- Use manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills, and follow written and oral instructions.
- Manipulate fingers, reach, stir, measure, pour, cut, chop, dice, and decorate as needed.
- Use the sense of taste, smell, and visual inspection; both close and distance vision required.
- Frequently lift or move up to 25 lbs.; occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Valid NYS driver’s license; must submit to a Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). examination to obtain a DOT card and pass a company drug‑screen test.
- Ability to obtain a forklift license upon employment.
- Must pass a third‑party truck driving assessment upon hire.
