Facilities Maintenance Supervisor

Description

The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is a working supervisor responsible for overseeing all facility and equipment maintenance/upgrades, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operations across the plant. This role is a hands‑on leader who will initially operate as a department of one while building processes, systems, and eventually a team to support future growth.

• Develop, implement, and maintain preventative maintenance programs for facility systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide range of machinery and building systems, including electrical, mechanical, and basic plumbing/HVAC.
• Oversee general facility upkeep and upgrades including lighting, building structure, and overall plant condition.
• Maintain and track inventory of maintenance supplies, spare parts, consumables, and filters.
• Establish organized systems for work orders, maintenance schedules, and inventory management.
• Partner with operations and leadership to minimize downtime and support production efficiency.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, cost savings, and equipment reliability enhancements.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
• Coordinate external vendors and contractors as needed.
• Operate initially as a department of one while building processes and infrastructure for future growth.
• Supervise janitorial staff responsible for facility cleanliness including Floor cleaning (including sweeper operation), Trash and recycling removal, General cleaning (windows, stairwells, common areas, etc.).
• Provide leadership, direction, and accountability for facility standards and housekeeping.

• Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

• Assisting with interviewing, hiring, and training employees.
• Creating, Maintaining, and training employees on relevant work instructions.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or trade school preferred.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Experience working with fabrication equipment and facility systems preferred.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Demonstrated success in a similar role with increasing responsibility.
• Experience managing inventory and maintenance systems strongly preferred.
