Maintenance Assistant

Overview

A maintenance assistant is responsible for helping the manager overseeing all aspects of a facility's maintenance operations, including planning, scheduling, and executing preventative and corrective maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and optimizing maintenance costs to maximize equipment uptime and operational efficiency.

• Developing and implementing maintenance strategies:

  Create and manage a comprehensive maintenance plan, including preventative maintenance schedules, minimize equipment breakdowns and optimize asset lifespan.

• Budget management:

  Monitor maintenance costs, identify areas for cost reduction, and ensure adherence to budget constraints.

• Troubleshooting and repair coordination:

  Respond to equipment malfunctions, diagnose issues, and coordinate necessary repairs with technicians or outside contractors.

• Safety compliance:

  Enforce safety protocols and ensure all maintenance activities adhere to industry regulations and company safety standards.

• Communication and collaboration:

  Effectively communicate maintenance updates to relevant stakeholders including operations teams, facility management, and senior leadership.

• Job Type: Hourly

• Work Hours: Full-Time/Days

• Training For Position: Formal and Informal

• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50+ pounds or more with assistance.

• Education: High School Diploma

• Required Experience: 1-2 years of previous experience in a long-term care environment and/or leadership or management experience is preferred.
