Overview
Department: Department of Public Works-Structures and Grounds Division
Provides professional, administrative, managerial, technical, supervisory, and skilled hands on work in planning/managing the care and cleaning of Town owned buildings and facilities; all other duties as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsHigh School diploma, with additional training/education in Building Maintenance preferred. More than five (5) years of supervisory experience, and experience in custodial/maintenance management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Class D drivers license required.
Additional QualificationsGeneral knowledge of cleaning materials and methods. Knowledge of SDS laws and procedures. Familiarity with building operations and maintenance requirements. Working knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing programs.
Proven ability to manage and implement a large municipal-scale custodial/building maintenance program. Ability to instruct, train and direct subordinates. Ability to develop and effectively manage budgets. Ability to administer grants. Ability to operate all types of equipment related to custodial and building maintenance. Ability to keep detailed records. Demonstrated ability to lead and deal appropriately with subordinates. Demonstrated ability to meet and deal appropriately and effectively with a large variety of people.
Ability to professionally interact with other Town employees, citizens, or Town Leaders. Ability to work in a close-knit, team environment. Ability to use computers, and programs including Microsoft Office, inventory, and database programs.
Skilled in performing preventative maintenance on plant and equipment.
