Position Summary
Perform a variety of custodial cleaning services in a team setting to buildings in support of University facilities. Clean and maintain floor surfaces using approved supplies, chemicals and equipment. Clean water fountains, waste receptacles, and windows. Maintain a safe and clean living, learning and work environment. Remove trash and recycled items. Be on‑call to respond to after‑hours emergencies. Comply with all policies and procedures.
May operate a University vehicle. This position requires active engagement in learning and practicing principles of social justice and inclusion, environmental sustainability, and delivering great customer service. Under the direct supervision of the Custodial Supervisor, support the department’s mission: “providing the University with a clean, safe, and healthy environment in which to live, learn and work.”
Elementary school education required. Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one and driver’s check may be required. Lifting up to 50 lbs. and pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs. occasionally required; specific physical requirements may apply based on specific job functions. Initial employment contingent upon successful completion of physical screening and background check. Anticipated Pay Range: $18.50 per hour
Special Conditions- Probationary period may be required
- Occasional evening and/or weekends required (non‑exempt position may result in overtime)
- Position ineligible for telework due to essential functions
- Background check required
- Post‑offer pre‑employment (POPE test) physical examination required
- FLSA Non‑Exempt Union Position – union engaged
- UE minimum hourly rate: $18.50
