Floor Care Specialist

Cleantech Building Maintenance is a veteran-owned commercial cleaning company based in South Burlington, Vermont , with over 25 years of experience serving Vermont businesses. We provide professional cleaning services to banks and financial institutions, medical offices, technology companies, and large commercial office buildings across Chittenden County and the greater Burlington area. We are currently looking for a skilled and dependable floor care specialist to join our evening team.

This is a part-time, Monday through Friday evening position and is a great fit for someone who takes pride in hands-on work, has experience operating commercial floor care equipment, and is looking for reliable hours that work around a daytime schedule.

As a Floor Care Specialist with Cleantech Building Maintenance, your core responsibilities will include:

• Operating commercial floor scrubbing machines, buffers, and other powered floor care equipment
• Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming hard floors and carpeted areas throughout assigned facilities
• Stripping, waxing, and refinishing hard surface floors as required
• Maintaining floor care equipment in clean, safe working order and reporting any defects to management
• Dusting and wiping down surfaces including desks, countertops, windowsills, and shared equipment
• Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and restocking consumable supplies as part of general janitorial duties
• Emptying trash and recycling bins and disposing of waste properly
• Maintaining cleanliness of common areas including lobbies, hallways, and breakrooms
• Following all cleaning protocols, chemical safety guidelines, and client-specific requirements
• Reporting maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly

What we are looking for

• Previous experience operating commercial floor scrubbing or buffing equipment is strongly preferred
• Background in janitorial, custodial, or commercial cleaning work is an asset
• Knowledge of appropriate cleaning products and chemicals for different floor surfaces
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to consistently high standards
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across multiple areas in a shift
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
• Ability to reliably commute to work sites in the South Burlington and Chittenden County area
• Comfortable performing physical tasks, including standing, walking, bending, and operating equipment throughout a full shift

Compensation and schedule

• Starting pay from $17.00 per hour
• Part-time hours, Monday through Friday
• Evening shift schedule, after 5:00 pm
• Flexible scheduling available for the right candidate
