Role Overview

Silfab Solar is hiring a mid‑level Facilities Custodian. This is a full‑time role in Burlington. The full responsibilities and qualifications are listed below.

The Facilities Custodian is responsible for maintaining a safe and productive working environment at Silfab Solar by keeping the workplace clean, orderly and well‑maintained. The schedule for this role is Saturday and Sunday 8am‑6pm.

• Keep building and property in a clean and orderly condition.
• Perform heavy cleaning duties.
• Gather and empty trash and recycling.
• Scrub, sanitize and supply restroom facilities.
• Dust furniture, walls and equipment.
• Transfer solutions and chemicals into containers in preparation for cleaning, according to instructions.
• Follow proper procedures for handling and storing cleaning chemicals, according to instructions.
• Clean fixtures and furniture.
• Shampoo or steam‑clean carpets and rugs.
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies.
• Notify supervisors regarding the need for repairs or additions to building operating systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management for the purpose of cleanliness inside and outside the facility.

• High level of attention to detail to ensure sanitation and quality standards are met.
• Working knowledge of cleaning products used for cleaning and sanitation.
• Knowledge and use of small hand power tools such as drills, rotary hammers, snowblowers, and angle grinders.
• Minor plumbing and carpentry skills.
• Ability to paint and repair walls.
• Ability to follow directions closely.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Self‑starter who can work independently.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 or more years of experience in custodial services preferred.

• Must be able to lift and move materials up to 25 pounds independently and participate in team lifts of approximately 60 pounds as required for essential production tasks.
• Must remain in a stationary position or move throughout the production floor for extended periods (up to 8+ hours per shift).
• Must operate, position, adjust, or move equipment, tools, or materials necessary for production processes.
• Capable of performing consistent, manual production tasks over long shifts.
• Must work in typical manufacturing environmental conditions, including areas requiring PPE, exposure to noise, and temperature variation.
