Middle School Social Worker-Anticipated
Job Summary:Burr Ridge Community Consolidated School District 180 is seeking a qualified and student-centered individual to serve as a Middle School Social Worker. The successful candidate will provide social-emotional, behavioral, and mental health support to students while collaborating with staff, families, and community agencies to promote student success. The ideal candidate will have experience implementing Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), restorative practices, and evidence-based interventions that support student growth and well-being.
Qualifications:- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Social Worker endorsement required.
- Experience working with middle school-aged students preferred.
- Knowledge of MTSS, PBIS, restorative practices, and behavioral intervention strategies.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, families, and outside agencies.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proof of negative TB test.
- Completed online application.
- Completed fingerprinting through the Regional Office of Education (ROE).
- Provide individual and group counseling services to support students' social, emotional, behavioral, and academic development.
- Conduct social-developmental assessments and contribute to the evaluation and eligibility process for special education services.
- Participate as an active member of MTSS, PBIS, IEP, 504, and problem‑solving teams.
- Develop and implement behavior intervention plans and monitor student progress.
- Collaborate with teachers and administrators to identify and address barriers to student success.
- Provide crisis intervention and support students and families during emergency situations.
- Facilitate social skills groups, conflict resolution activities, and preventative interventions.
- Assist in the development and implementation of school-wide PBIS initiatives and behavioral support systems.
- Coordinate with community agencies and outside providers to secure services and resources for students and families.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and compliance with state and federal requirements.
- Support student attendance initiatives and family engagement efforts.
- Attend professional development activities and remain current on best practices in school social work.
- Uphold the mission, vision, and goals of Burr Ridge CCSD 180.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Director of Student Services.
Salary and benefits will be in accordance with the CCSD 180 Collective Bargaining Agreement and commensurate with experience and credentials.
Working Conditions:2026–2027 school year at Burr Ridge Middle School.
