Qualifications
• State of Illinois fingerprinting and background check in compliance with state code and district policy requirements. A fingerprint-based criminal history records check and a check of the Statewide Sex Offender Database and Violent Offender Against Youth Database (when available) will be performed on the successful candidate as required by State law. Each newly hired employee must complete an Immigration and Naturalization Service Form as required by federal law.
• Must meet the requirements of a "Highly Qualified" paraprofessional as defined by Title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience working with students with disabilities or within a school setting is preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, related service providers, administrators, and support staff.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to support students with academic, behavioral, emotional, and social needs.
• Proof of a negative TB test is required.
• Completion of the online application and fingerprinting through the Regional Office of Education is required.
Position Overview
The Student Services Paraprofessional Aide supports students with disabilities and diverse learning needs under the direction of the classroom teacher, facilitator, and student services staff. This position assists students academically, behaviorally, socially, and emotionally to help ensure meaningful participation in instructional and school-related activities.
The Student Services Paraprofessional Aide collaborates with teachers and related service providers to support implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), classroom accommodations, and student interventions while promoting a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment.
Performance Responsibilities

Student Support & Instructional Assistance
1.Assists in the educational, behavioral, and social development of students under the direction of teachers and student services staff.
2.Supports implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and classroom accommodations.
3.Provides support to individual students and small groups inside and outside the classroom to facilitate participation in instructional activities.
4.Assists students with academic tasks, classroom assignments, organization, and daily routines.
5.Supports students with emotional, behavioral, or social concerns and assists in developing appropriate coping and social skills.
6.Reinforces classroom expectations, routines, and positive behavior supports.
Collaboration & Classroom Support
7.Collaborates with teachers and related service providers, including speech therapists, social workers, occupational therapists, and physical therapists.
8.Assists classroom teachers with maintaining student records and instructional materials.
9.Assists with preparation, copying, and organization of classroom and instructional materials.
10.Assists with preparation and display of student work and classroom projects.
11.Participates in staff meetings, team meetings, and professional learning activities as assigned.

13.Maintains confidentiality regarding students, staff, and district operations.
14.Demonstrates professionalism in appearance, communication, punctuality, attendance, and interactions with students, staff, and families.
15.Maintains a proactive approach to student safety, health, and supervision.
16.Performs other duties as assigned by the supervising administrator or teacher.
Working Conditions
• Position located at Burr Ridge Middle School.
• Regular interaction with students requiring academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support.
• Work may include movement throughout classrooms, hallways, and other school environments.
Evaluation
Performance will be evaluated annually by the supervising administrator in accordance with district evaluation procedures and Board policy.
