Our client, a leading manufacturer of high-quality commercial partitions and building products, is seeking an experienced Drafting & Order Engineering Manager-Bilingual Spanish/English to lead their Drafting and Order Engineering team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a hands‑on leader who thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment and enjoys developing teams, improving processes, and collaborating across multiple departments.
In this role, you will oversee both an onsite & a hybrid team responsible for creating accurate fabrication drawings, Bills of Material (BOMs), approval drawings, and engineering documentation that support production and customer orders.
You’ll serve as a key liaison between Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Customer Service, and the Design Studio CPQ team to ensure projects move efficiently from order entry through manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, coach, and develop a hybrid team of onsite and remote drafting and order engineering professionals.
- Manage departmental workload, scheduling, staffing priorities, and performance evaluations.
- Establish and monitor KPIs focused on accuracy, productivity, turnaround time, and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee the preparation and review of:
Concept drawings, Fabrication drawings, Approval submittals, As-built drawings, Bills of Material (BOMs) - Review customer drawings, architectural plans, and specifications for manufacturability, accuracy, and ADA compliance.
- Ensure engineering documentation meets company quality standards and manufacturing requirements.
- Partner closely with Sales, Manufacturing, Engineering, Customer Service, and Production to support customer orders and resolve technical issues.
- Collaborate with the Design Studio CPQ team to improve configurator functionality, workflow automation, and product standardization.
- Identify opportunities to improve drafting processes, engineering workflows, and department efficiency.
- Support ERP, CAD automation, and digital workflow initiatives.
- Monitor drafting standards, engineering documentation, and design templates.
- Participate in root cause investigations and corrective action initiatives related to engineering and production.
