Pharmacy Technician

HHI Pharmacy (Affiliated with Metro Infectious Disease Consultants) is seeking a Full-Time Pharmacy Technician who would be responsible for assisting Pharmacists with compounding, documentation, and other dispensing functions;
Performs aseptic environment maintenance tasks; and assists with preparing and delivering patient shipments.

• Monday-Friday
• On Call Requirement: 1 weekend every 2 months + 1 holiday/year

• Pick and stage medication orders to be filled and compounded.
• Compound parenteral and other medications for patients.
• Perform environmental monitoring tests.
• Type prescription labels and prepare other documentation materials for pharmacist approval.
• File documentation records.
• Clean, sanitize, and maintain equipment and facilities used for compounding sterile products.
• Monitor pharmaceutical inventory and purchase replacement inventories.
• Pick and prepare patient product ship orders for delivery and occasionally execute patient order deliveries.

• At least a high school education
• Illinois Pharmacy Technician License
• At least (1) one year of previous experience compounding parenteral medications is preferred
• Proof of current vaccinations, including recommended boosters, commonly required for those working with immunocompromised patients, including measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A & B, and influenza.
