Position Summary:

The part‑time Custodian handles all aspects of janitorial duties, utilizing proper cleaning methods and procedures. The candidate must follow written and oral communication, solve problems during cleaning, and be able to work independently or as part of a team.

Hours:

Montana Tech campus (19 hours per week). 12 pm to 4 pm for 4 hours Monday through Thursday, 3 hours on Friday (subject to change).

• Clean campus offices, labs, classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and assigned areas as required.
• Maintain proper appearance of buildings including entrances, exits, snow removal of sidewalks adjacent to buildings, and grounds cleanup.
• Follow safe work practices and participate in safety and custodial training.
• Properly lift 40‑60 lbs from ground level to a height of 4‑6 ft and carry 30 lbs for up to 30 ft.
• Follow written and oral instructions and solve problems encountered during cleaning.
• Work alone and occasionally with a team.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the custodial manager.

• Must be able to follow written and oral communications and solve problems during the cleaning process.

• Experience in institutional/commercial custodial work such as waxing floors.
• Working knowledge of proper cleaning methods, procedures, and cleaning machines.
• Knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) for all cleaning products used.

• Be able to lift 40‑60 lbs from ground level to a height of 4‑6 ft and carry 30 lbs for up to 30 ft.

$15.15 per hour
