Position: Permanent Sous Chef
Responsibilities:
Lead kitchen staff (Chef de Partie, Line Cooks and Stewards) to ensure quality, speed and consistency of foodPrepare exceptional food for our members in a busy restaurant environmentContinually investigate industry trends and bring new, innovative ideas to the ClubTake ownership in designing and implementing creative food features, promotions, and menu changesFulfill management duties including payroll and administration during the Executive Chef’s absenceLead by example and ensure protocols, policies, and procedures are followedDevelop employees and provide ongoing staff training in the form of daily coaching, employee feedback and leading staff meetingsActively participate in performance management of staff including yearly performance reviewsIn coordination with the Executive Chef, manage inventory, food orders, and ensure cost effective food preparationEnsure food safety and kitchen cleanliness guidelines and regulations are followedQualifications:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience, with 2-3 years in a leadership roleExperience creating seasonal, fresh, and innovative menusCreative and innovative with food knowledge and preparationStrong interpersonal and team skills with the ability to lead a teamResilience through daily stressful situationsAbility to work through difficult situations in a professional mannerStrong administration and organizational skillsPhysical capability for frequent heavy liftingKeen willingness to learnCompletion of a recognized cooking program is an assetRed Seal and Food safe course is an assetReliable transportation is required as there is no public transportation to our locationWhy choose us:

This is a Full Time position that reports to the Executive Chef. The successful candidate may be required to work a variety of shifts including weekdays, evenings, weekends and holidays, so a flexible schedule is required.
The successful applicant will be required to complete a background check as well as Respect in the Workplace prior to commencing employment.
