** Fabrication Manager**, the
** Lead*
* ** Structural Welder
** is responsible for welding structural steel (c-channels) to fabricate (fit and weld) the framing for sheet metal enclosure buildings using welding equipment and techniques. This position uses the FCAW process.
** What a typical day looks like:
*** Oversee the work of assigned team employees
* Addresses minor discipline problems with team members; refers more serious cases to the supervisor
* Assists with the planning and preparation of training and orientation for new team members in partnership with the training specialist and team trainer
* Collaborate with team members to discuss upcoming work assignments; delegates assignments based on team members skills and experience
* Assists team members with technical issues or advanced problems with given assignments
* Inspects work performed by team members
* Tracks and logs workers time, materials, and other resources used for inventory purposes.
* Partner with supervisor or production manager to reslove any issues that arise within department.
* Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.
* Lay out, position, align, and secure parts prior to assembly
* Weld structural steel (c-channels) in flat, vertical, or overhead positions using welding techniques and equipment
* Clamp, hold, or tack weld parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding
* Determine required equipment and welding techniques, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques
* Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.
* Complete all other duties as assigned
** The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
*** High School Diploma or equivalent
* At least 4 years’ experience in dual shield welding process
* Prior experience in effectively leading a team of employees
* Certification required:
** AWS D1.1 FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding)
*** Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to peform work accurately
* Knowledge of manufacturing, equipment maintenance, and safety management
