Boiler Attendant

Job Description

The Kraft Heinz Company is seeking a Boiler Attendant to work in the tomato paste, pizza sauce, salsa, peeled pear canned tomatoes, crushed tomatoes, tomato puree, and tomato sauce production area in Escalon, CA. Ideal candidates are safety and quality driven, work well in a fast‑paced team environment, and may work alone or in charge under supervision for efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of all boiler equipment.

• Remove and roll in boiler tubes (maintenance only).
• Make water analyses.
• Make stack gas analyses.
• Requisition boiler room parts and supplies.
• Operate and maintain water softening and water treatment equipment.
• Responsibility for work layout and general direction and assignment of boiler room attendants.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Repair or replace steam and water valves throughout the plant.
• Serve on night call.
• May be required to hold a license to operate the boilers.
• Repair cannery equipment during spare time.

• At least 5 years of experience in boiler operations.
• Knowledge of water chemistry, blow‑down requirements, daily reporting, and computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
• Certification not required.

• Sick Pay available after successful completion of 90 days of employment.
• 10 company‑paid holidays per year subject to requirements.
• Hourly wage rate: $40.00 (will increase to $41.00 on 07/01/2026 per CBA language). Shift differential of $0.10 for second shift, $0.15 for third shift.
• Union facility.

Off‑season schedule: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM.
Harvest season (July – October): 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM or 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM (depending on seniority due to union environment). Overtime may be available based on business need and potential work opportunities from November – June performing boiler operations and preventive maintenance.
