Job Summary

Custodial Rovers will be under the direction of the Custodial Supervisor(s), working flexible hours for either a day or night shift. They will communicate with district and site administrators regarding the care, cleaning, and maintenance of the school facility; perform custodial activities during a day or night shift at an assigned Lake Washington School District facility to maintain buildings, office space, and grounds.

Custodial Rovers will be responsible for sanitation, maintenance, safety, comfort, and security of school or district buildings to create and maintain a safe and pleasant environment for students and staff.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma, G.E.D., or work experience related to core functions of the position.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Post-employment physical required.
  • Must pass criminal background check.
Working Environment

For an 8‑hour workday, "Occasionally" = 1–33%; "Frequently" = 34–66%; "Continuously" = 67–100%. Occasionally: sit, lift, and/or carry up to 50 lbs. Frequently: lift and/or carry up to 25 lbs.; bend, squat, crawl, climb, and reach above shoulder level and twist. Additionally, work requires repetitive action such as grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation with both hands. Continuously: walk and stand.

Occasional exposure to unprotected heights, dust, fumes, gases, commercial-strength chemicals, temperature and humidity changes, and moving machinery. On average, the job requires 65% walking, 20% standing, and 15% sitting.
