Description:

The Building People, LLC is hiring a full‑time General Maintenance Worker for the facilities engineering program to support a federal Agency. The General Maintenance Worker will perform general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in trades such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Work involves a variety of duties: replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors; using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings; repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets; painting structures and equipment, tiles; hanging doors and installing door locks; replacing broken windowpanes; and performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
• The other days will encompass general maintenance on other projects as needed.
• The job requires the ability to lift 50 lbs. of furniture to assist in moving office furniture, couches, chairs, conference room assemblies, and miscellaneous items.
• Work is spot‑checked for accuracy.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
