Facilities Worker
Facilities workers are the front-line for the overall maintenance and improvement of the physical grounds and buildings of Thousand Pines.
Wage: $19.00 per hour or above, depending on experience level.
Essential Functions- Repair and maintenance of camp vehicles, facilities, and property
- Landscaping and groundskeeping
- Safe operation of tractors and trucks
- Safe operation of various minor equipment and tools
- Assisting other departments when facilities-related needs arise i.e. moving furniture, ladder work, heavier lifting, etc.
- Assisting with weather-related issues: snow removal, water damage, roofing issues, etc.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Safety first mindset at all times
- Attention to detail
- Ability to organize and maintain a clean work area
- Ability to follow instructions, learn new skills, and accept guidance/supervision
- Ability to work alone and with others in a timely manner
- Excellent attitude with guests and co-workers
- Minimum of a high school diploma
- Must be able to work some weekends and odd hours
- Current driver license
- Godly, Christian character
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications
- Agreement with Thousand Pines mission-vision-values, doctrinal statement, and compliance with employee handbook
- Ability to work outside in inclement/extreme weather conditions (hot and cold)
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Abilities sufficient to carry out the essential functions of the job, including good balance
- Weed whacking
- Painting
- Minor repair on camp vehicles and equipment
- Using mechanized tools and equipment
- Using manual tools and equipment
- Using a backpack blower and/or push blower
- Moving bunk beds, furniture, or other heavy items
- Holding heavy items in place
- Lifting and carrying materials and supplies, ladders, hoses, tools, equipment, boxes, bed frames, etc.
- Walking and standing for long periods of time, walking backwards while carrying items
- Roof work, tree work, working on scaffolding, at heights above 20 feet
- Leaning
- Bending over
- Stooping
- Reaching
- Lifting
- Pulling
- Pushing
- Squatting
- Climbing/Descending ladders
- Digging
- Watering, moving heavy hoses
- Sweeping and shoveling
- Mowing grass with a hand or motorized lawn mower
