We are looking for a Water and Wastewater Systems Operator to ensure safe and reliable delivery of potable water and effective operation of wastewater systems that support employees, facilities, and surrounding operations. This role offers an opportunity to work with diverse treatment and distribution systems, troubleshoot complex equipment, and contribute to environmental stewardship while maintaining regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities- Inspect, test, adjust, disinfect, flush, and perform minor maintenance and troubleshooting of water distribution systems.
- Collect data and prepare reports for the company and regulatory agencies.
- Maintain all necessary operating licenses for the domestic water plant and water distribution system.
- Maintain compliance with state, federal, and local water and wastewater regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Basic math and computer literacy.
- Microsoft operating systems proficiency.
- Obtain and maintain required state and federal treatment licenses.
- Valid California driver’s license.
- High school diploma.
- Ability to detect faulty instrument and control device operation.
- Analyze and correct problems related to overall control of water purification processes.
- Make minor repairs to domestic and wastewater plant and distribution system equipment.
- Communicate effectively with regulatory agencies.
- Experience driving in snow and mountain conditions.
- The position is on-site. The employee will report to an SCE facility or field location. Work mode can be changed based on business needs.

- The primary work location is Big Creek; the successful candidate may be asked to work for an extended period throughout the Hydro Project area.
- Position requires up to 50% travel and fieldwork throughout the SCE service territory.
- This position is a NERC/CIP impacted position. Prior to hire, the candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment or Background Investigation. After hire, required training must be completed before gaining unescorted access to assigned work location.
- The position will work a 4/10 schedule, Wednesday to Saturday.
- Relocation does not apply to this position.
- Position requires testing; applicants will be invited to test via email. Reference our Information Guides for the following tests: EEI TECH (Test #5107). Candidates who have previously passed these assessments may not need to retest.
