Salary $27.00/hr. ($56,160 annually) Additional compensation awarded for post-secondary education, bilingual status in Spanish, Haitian-Creole or Arabic, and approved industry certifications.

JOB EXPECTATIONS & REQUIREMENTSPosition Purpose / DescriptionUnder the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician performs tasks while supporting the needs of the Maintenance team. The Maintenance Technician will work and train with all trade members of the Maintenance Team.
- Assist and support all specific trades on the Maintenance team with various maintenance tasks. Inclusive, but not limited to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting and underground utility/irrigation repairs.
- Assist with cleaning and repairs on maintenance equipment including outdoor maintenance vehicles such as tractors, gators, etc.
- Assists with snow removal.
- Assists with general debris removal.
- Assists with general playground and grounds maintenance.
- Troubleshoot to determine necessary repairs.
- Plans repair work using buildings blueprints or equipment manuals as needed.
- Orders supplies and materials as needed for repairs and maintenance.
- Responds as needed to emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
- Other tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor, Director of Operations and Assistant Director of Operations.
- Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
- Maintains assigned vehicle, tools and equipment for the purpose of ensuring availability in safe operating condition.
- Professional experience in general maintenance is preferred.
- Must have and maintain a valid Indiana motor vehicle operator's license. In addition, a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) may be required to be obtained after hiring.
- Must be able to work efficiently and effectively at a fast pace and exhibit good attendance.
- The ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders including students, parents, teachers, administrators, staff and outside public agencies is required.
- The ability to be flexible as needed with work schedule/shift changes as determined by facility needs and to be on an on-call rotation schedule.
